Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee the completion of assigned projects and manage daily job-site operations, including scheduling, production, and material procurement. You will coordinate with the Project Manager, supervise crews, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across phases.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in engineering or construction, 3+ years in a superintendent role, and 5+ years in commercial/MEP construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent; minimum 3 years as a Superintendent.
• 5+ years of commercial construction and/or MEP experience required.
• Experience managing Mission Critical/Data Center projects preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and applies building codes correctly.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase based on specifications.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization planning.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Communicate project progress to clients, subs, and craft personnel.
• Resolve issues with supervisors, engineers, and suppliers to improve methods.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manage labor costs, crew mixes, and project staffing across sites.
