Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager, Construction Contractor Safety to lead and govern the company’s construction safety program across capital projects. You will drive safety performance, train and mentor teams, and partner with EHS, engineering, and external partners to manage complex safety risks.

The role requires multiple degree options with significant EHS leadership experience, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leading teams.
• Experience in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering or related EHS discipline.
• Experience with construction safety governance across capital projects (pharma/biopharma preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead development and improvement of construction contractor safety program elements, modules, and training.
• Govern project safety performance and provide governance across capital projects.
• Monitor compliance with regional safety regulations and company requirements.
• Review safety plans and ensure adequate resources for safe project execution.
• Coordinate with project leaders and safety roles to fulfill health and safety obligations.
• Manage safety service-provider or project-supervisor contracts.
