Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager of Construction Contractor Safety in Thousand Oaks, CA. You will lead the safety program governance, training, and performance across capital projects and ensure contractor compliance with regional standards.

You will partner with project leaders, EHS, and engineering to manage complex safety risks while leveraging technology and data analytics for continuous improvement. The role requires travel and people leadership.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or higher in EHS, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of EHS leadership experience.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Associate’s degree with 10+ years in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• High school diploma with 12+ years in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of construction contractor safety program elements, modules, systems, standards, and training.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety compliance with regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with project leaders, EHS, engineering, and external partners to manage complex safety risks in capital projects.
• Collect, review, and interpret safety metrics to drive governance and outcome improvements.
