Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The position involves enforcing OSHA standards, conducting safety orientations, investigations, training, and close collaboration with the ESH Manager and HR to ensure compliant and safe project execution across

Qualifications

BA/BS degree with at least 3 years in construction or industrial health and safety.
Demonstrated continuing education in construction safety.
OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within the last two years.
Completed OSHA 30-hour Construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to perform duties accurately with or without accommodation.
Proficiency in English; clear safety instructions.

Responsibilities

Support project teams to enforce OSHA and Layton standards at the site level.
Investigate accidents and near misses with the ESH Manager.
Monitor workers’ compensation issues and report timely information.
Deliver safety orientations and site-specific trainings.
Assist in pre-construction safety meetings and issue identification.
Provide injury management support to ensure appropriate medical care.
Conduct industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing as needed.
Support VP-Field Operations and HR on FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation compliance.
Participate in monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
