Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. The role demands a strong foundation in construction safety, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

The Senior Safety Coordinator will oversee safety conditions, investigate incidents with the ESH Manager, and provide site-level training and orientations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years in construction safety or industrial health programs.
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within the last two years.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to foster effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Monitors safety conditions and enforces OSHA and Layton Construction standards and policies.
• Assists the ESH Manager in investigating accidents and near misses and collects data.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Provides safety-related training to employees and subcontractor personnel at the site level.
