Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Quality Manager II to lead the quality control program on large civil, industrial, or federal projects from Davenport, IA. You will manage field inspectors, write the project QC plan, and run three-phase QC meetings with owner's QA representatives.

You will supervise inspectors, coordinate laboratory testing, and handle NCRs with documented causes and corrective actions. Travel may be required; a valid driver's license is required, and EEO statements apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC Special Inspector or NICET Level III certification.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency.
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians.
• assign daily coverage and review their reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
