Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Construction (QA) Inspector in Louisville, KY. The role requires extensive experience on federal projects and a strong knowledge of codes, safety programs, and quality control.

Travel to sites may be required to perform inspections and prepare reports for government personnel. The candidate will review plans, monitor contractor schedules, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and design instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; degree preferred in Construction/Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience on large federal construction projects, with DoD/USACE preferred.
• Experience with vertical construction projects; hospital construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant construction/building codes as applicable to inspections.
• Specialized skills/codes may be required: NFPA 101, NFPA 70, IPC, NFPA 13/72, ASHRAE/NEBB, Building Commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Delivers surveillance reports on all phases of construction for compliance with plans and specifications to government personnel.
• Provides technical expertise to ensure project compliance with engineering standards, codes, and design instructions.
• Performs inspections and completes daily site reports, including comments on progress, safety issues, and subcontractor manpower.
• Observes and investigates construction phases for compliance with schedules and shop drawings; identifies problems and suggests changes or contract modifications.
• Prepares complete engineering plans or reports and reviews contractor schedules for timely execution.
• Assists in all phases of the contract modification process and reviews submittals for approval, including safety and QC programs.
• Monitors progress, notifies the team of potential delays, and uses RMS for data management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
