Job summary

Broward County is seeking a Construction Project Management Supervisor within the Seaport Engineering and Construction Division to oversee design and management of complex port construction projects.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with multiple County agencies, and ensuring compliance with building codes and contract specifications. Advanced degrees and professional licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in architecture and/or engineering; master's degree preferred.
• Requires six (6) years in professional architectural or engineering work, including four (4) years of experience in project management and supervision of staff appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience.
• Special Certifications and Licenses include registration as a professional architect or registered engineer or NCIDQ (Space Planning Only) and the ability to secure Florida Driver's License, TWIC, and Port Security Identification Badge.

Responsibilities

• Manages and monitors construction contractors and consultants; develops, negotiates contracts, amendments, change orders, and work authorizations.
• Coordinates with user and County agencies and regulators to ensure compliance and project progress.
• Supervises project managers and engineering technicians; reviews plans, calculations, pay applications, invoices, and Florida Building Code compliance.
• Reviews bids for conformance to construction specifications; administers consultant and contractor contracts and assists in bidding processes.
• Leads meetings with contractors and consultants to review progress and manage all aspects of the project; approves invoices and payment requests.

Education

Bachelor's degree in architecture/engineering
