Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, seeks a Senior Project Administrator to join the Program Management Unit in Manhattan. The role reports to a Deputy Director and tracks progress from pre-design through construction, maintaining project data in the agency’s database.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with total project cost at least $300,000 for each year
• One year of experience plus a baccalaureate degree in engineering, construction, or related fields
• One year of experience plus a valid professional license (PE/RA/LA)
• Four-year high school diploma and combination of experience and education to equal five years
• Driver license required at appointment and maintained for duration of employment
• Must specify for each project: project description, timeframe, and type of work with budget

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track project progress through pre-design, design, and construction phases
• Maintain accurate project information in the agency database throughout the project life cycle
• Coordinate preparation of documents and notify community boards and elected officials of project status
• Interact with client agencies and ensure permits, funding, mapping, and related issues are followed up
• Attend meetings on scope development, design, and construction including commitment plan and bid openings
