Job summary

The City of New York Department of Design and Construction (BBJ) seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex capital projects from design to close-out. You will coordinate with sponsor agencies, review schedules and budgets, and manage construction staff to ensure timely delivery.

Applicants must have a higher education degree in engineering/architecture or related field, with substantial supervisory experience. U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration and five years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma and nine years’ related experience with supervisory duties.
• Education/experience equivalent to (1) or (2); advanced degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex capital commitment projects from conception through close-out.
• Review proposed projects to determine scheduling, scope and timing.
• Liaise with agencies, regulators and consultants to ensure project goals are met.
• Develop deliverable dates and monitor schedules, costs and construction issues.
• Maintain project history files and review change orders and reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration

High school diploma with nine years’ experience (administrative/managerial)
