Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager responsible for planning, managing, procuring, scheduling, and executing commercial construction projects to maximize profitability and client satisfaction. The role involves leading the PMP, coordinating with the Superintendent, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with strong estimating and contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or the equivalent education and experience.
• Preferably at least 5 years experience working in commercial construction.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids, market rates, and change orders.
• Understands contractual language and concepts to protect the company while providing quality service.
• Understanding of building codes and design requirements, plans and specifications.
• Effective team member and delegation to achieve goals.
• Skilled at verbal and written presentations and communications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver predictable outcomes for internal and external teams and customers.
• Ensure integrity in safety and quality of work.
• Work with Superintendent to deliver successful project delivery and strengthen client relationships.
• Assist in preparation of estimates and project budgets.
• Lead the project team in developing the PMP and pre-award/construction meetings.
• Participate in value engineering, negotiate subcontracts, and obtain permits as needed.
• Prepare project schedule with milestones and manage procurement within budget.
• Control contract documents and project costs, coordinating payments and reviews.
• Close out projects with as-built drawings and final documentation.
• Interact with Estimating to provide cost information for the database.
• Manage client relationships and all client meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
