Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a highly experienced Construction Administration leader to guide project teams on large-scale projects from startup through closeout. You will oversee quality and cost control, coordinate with owners, design teams and consultants, and ensure client satisfaction with delivery.

You will manage site presence, documentation, RFIs/Submittals, and change proposals, while mentoring CA staff and aligning with firm policies. Remote work options may apply depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field.
• 15+ years of construction administration experience.
• Healthcare and Education project experience preferred.
• Registration or Licensure preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
• Experience with construction management software (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Fieldwire).

Responsibilities

• Be the prime liaison between builder, client/owner and design teams.
• Develop and maintain the project Risk Assessment process during Construction Administration.
• Attend site meetings, manage scheduling, cost management, and bi-weekly reviews.
• Assign team members to various Construction Administration scopes with PMs.
• Oversee CA team on site and in offices, coordinating with coordinators and QA leaders.
• Guide the team to implement CA policies and discuss quality with senior leaders.
• Collect information across meetings to inform CA team actions.
• Participate in hiring of CA team for the project.
• Review and interpret construction documents and coordinate with consultants.
• Resolve on-site issues and coordinate contract document changes.
• Track document changes, costs, and reason codes.
• Consult client/owner on project issues.
• Process, review, and respond to RFIs and Submittals.
• Review and approve change proposals from builder.
• Review construction progress and authorize payments.
• Capture institutional knowledge and drive process improvements.
