131 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Technician III for Mack Alford Correctional Center. This on-site role involves construction, maintenance, repair and upkeep of state facilities, with a focus on carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC tasks.

The position requires five years of building trades experience, supervisory skills, and adherence to safety standards. Travel may be required for some assignments and a valid CDL may be preferred for certain jobs.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in one or more building trades.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate maintenance work.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and hazard prevention.
• Willingness to travel for job assignments if required.

Responsibilities

• Performs carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erects scaffolds, forms, and routes for structures.
• Installs, replaces, alters, maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures; handles associated equipment.
• Maintains and repairs light fixtures, generators, motors, and related electrical components.
• Installs and maintains locks and security devices; replaces tumblers and keys; uses hand tools.
• Constructs, maintains and repairs foundations, walls, and fireplaces; bricks and masonry work.
• Operates and repairs construction/maintenance equipment like trucks, tractors, and mowers.
