Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) at Warren Correctional Institution to perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance across facility systems. You will work as journey-level in a mechanical trade and may supervise inmates and staff while ensuring safe, efficient operation of plumbing, HVAC and related infrastructure.

Requirements include high school or GED and two years of progressive experience in the assigned trades; EPA Type

Qualifications

• Journey-level in a mechanical trade with ability to work in multiple trades.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility infrastructure systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing piping and water supply/drainage.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective work on facility systems.
• Repair fixtures: toilets, sinks, water heaters, valves, and related equipment.
• Supervise skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled staff and inmates as needed.
• read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
• Maintain safety and efficiency of systems within the correctional facility.
