Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Technician III for an on-site, full-time role at the Dick Conner Correctional Center. The position involves carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, lock security, and general maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Required are five years of building trades experience and the ability to supervise others, maintain records, and follow instructions. Some roles may require travel and a valid Oklahoma CDL; lifting may be involved.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in one or more building trades.
• Knowledge of building trades, safety precautions and supervisory practices.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions; supervise the work of others; write and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry work in construction or renovation; erect scaffolds, frames, fences and other structures; repair doors, floors, windows, roofs.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, traps, faucets; minor repairs to laundry and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain and repair lighting fixtures, receptacles and switches; service heating, air conditioning and related equipment not requiring a license.
• Install and maintain locks and other security devices; replace tumblers and keys.
• Construct, maintain and repair foundations; build walls, walks and fireplaces.
• Operate and repair construction equipment such as trucks, bulldozers, power shovels and mowers.
