131 Department of Corrections is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Technician III to perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and security-related maintenance at Chief James Smith Correctional Center. The role requires five years in building trades and supervision responsibilities; on-site work with various equipment and tools.

Qualifications include knowledge of safety practices, ability to supervise others, and the capacity to estimate labor and material needs.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in one or more building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to supervise the work of others and maintain records.
• Willingness to perform on-site construction and maintenance tasks with safety in mind.

Responsabilités

• Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erect and maintain structures and fittings.
• Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and related equipment.
• Maintain electrical systems and fixtures not requiring a licensed electrician.
• Install and repair locks, security devices, and basic access controls.
• Build and repair foundations, walls, stairs and related structures; operate construction machinery.
• Inspect work progress, estimate costs, and prepare reports.
