Job summary

The Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) at Pasquotank Correctional Institution is responsible for performing preventative and routine maintenance across a range of systems and building trades, ensuring safety and efficiency. The role may involve supervising semi-skilled workers, including inmates, to complete assignments and may require EPA certification.

The position offers a salary range of $41,206.00 to $72,113.00 and is embedded within North Carolina's Department of Adult Correction,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required with two years of progressive experience or an equivalent combo of education and experience.
Knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance preferred.
Documented journey level skills in at least two trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Kitchen Equipment) preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and routine corrective maintenance at a correctional institution.
Maintain assigned systems, equipment, and facilities safely and efficiently.
Supervise semi-skilled, unskilled, or skilled workers (including inmates) to assist in completing tasks.
May require EPA certification as Type I/II/III or Universal technician per 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
