Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction (Piedmont Correctional Institution, Salisbury, NC) seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) to perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems and support buildings. This journeyman-level role requires electrical work and at least one additional trade such as HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry.

The position includes supervising laborers, assisting with preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and efficiency across all systems.

Qualifications

• Maintenance knowledge of general systems and equipment.
• Experience in planning projects, assigning tasks, and meeting deadlines.
• KSAs/Management Preferences are not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems and support buildings.
• Work at the journeyman level in electrical; in at least one additional trade (HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry).
• Repair and service kitchen equipment; make minor interior and exterior building repairs.
• Supervise skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled laborers; assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain systems in a safe and efficient manner; hold a valid driver's license on hire.
