Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction at Anson Correctional Institution is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) to perform preventive and routine maintenance on facilities, generators, plumbing, electrical, and security systems at a female facility.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma or GED with two years of related maintenance experience, can supervise offender workers, and can read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two years of progressive experience in maintenance or related trades.
• Documented working knowledge of commercial/industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine corrective maintenance on generators, gate operators, plumbing, electrical systems, and security doors.
• Prepare preventive maintenance reports and maintain inventory of repair parts.
• Function at two journey levels: mechanical/plumbing and HVAC/refrigeration; assist in other trades as needed.
• Supervise semi-skilled and unskilled labor, including offender workers.
• Follow oral and written instructions and perform heavy physical tasks as required.
• Read and interpret sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
