Job summary

ND Dept of Corrections and Rehabilitation invites experienced maintenance workers to join the Physical Plant team. Work spans carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades in a large facility, with on-call duties and supervision of inmate workers.

Responsibilities include planning and completing major projects, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring energy management systems and surveillance equipment function reliably.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and completing significant maintenance projects involving carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and other maintenance related tasks.
• Perform general carpentry maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance and repair of electrical components and facility lighting systems.
• Perform heating plant boiler operation and general maintenance duties.
• Perform general plumbing maintenance.
• Perform heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair.
• Perform machinist work to provide general maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.
• Participate in the planning, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of energy management systems requiring the use of various monitoring software and hardware.
• Maintain electronic lock and surveillance systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical locks.
• Fill in for supervisor during absence to coordinate work projects.
• Supervise inmate workers assigned to Physical Plant work group.
• Assist and oversee general grounds duties.
• Serve in an on-call capacity.
