Job summary

GPTech is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to support inspection and QA/QC on Maryland-based projects. The role requires onsite presence, coordination with COR and contractors, and verification of compliance with plans, specs, and codes.

Ideal candidates have extensive Maryland QA experience, multi-trade oversight, and a strong background in energy infrastructure. U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check are required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to pass a federal background investigation/security clearance.
• 10+ years of experience in construction inspection/management/QA/QC.
• Extensive QA experience in the State of Maryland.
• Experience overseeing construction activities involving multiple trades and contracts.
• Experience serving as a client technical representative or similar role providing construction supervision/QA/QC oversight.
• Experience with large-scale energy infrastructure or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes and QC requirements.
• Experience reviewing construction schedules and progress.
• Experience using Procore for project management.
• Ability to analyze schedule updates and impacts.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite construction inspection, QA/QC, and technical oversight throughout project execution.
• Monitor construction activities, materials, workmanship, and installed systems for compliance with contract documents, drawings, codes, and standards.
• Serve as a client technical representative and coordinate with the COR, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, and testing; document deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Review contractor submittals, QC documentation, inspection records, invoices, and other project documentation.
• Review contractor schedule updates and verify progress against conditions; analyze schedule logic and constraints.
• Prepare and submit schedule compliance statements to the COR within three days of contractor billing submissions.
• Utilize Procore to maintain construction documentation, inspections, communications, and records.
• Monitor multiple trades and contracts, identify coordination issues, and support resolution of problems.
• Support construction meetings, claims analysis, field investigations, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout.
• Maintain accurate daily inspection reports, photographs, measurements, and other documentation.
