Job summary

SD Solutions, LLC seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to support a U.S. Coast Guard program in Baltimore, MD. The role involves on-site surveillance and QA for complex energy-related infrastructure projects, including solar PV, BESS, and microgrid systems.

The inspector will document construction, identify deficiencies, witness testing, and communicate findings to Government representatives while ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, QA/QC manager, or similar role.
• At least 2 years within the last 10 years supporting Federal Government construction projects as a Construction Inspector or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
• Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and accepted construction practices.
• Hands-on knowledge across multiple trades: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, civil.
• Experience preparing detailed inspection reports, deficiency documentation, and progress photographs.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily on-site inspections of active construction and demolition activities.
• Verify work complies with drawings, specifications, submittals, codes, and contract requirements.
• Inspect multiple trades: civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building envelope.
• Monitor installation of major equipment and infrastructure (transformers, switchgear, PV systems, BESS).
• Prepare daily inspection reports with descriptions, observations, and photos.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities and oversee quality-control.
