Job summary

GPTech, a global energy and infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a Field Technician/Tradesman to support the Department of State's Engineering IDIQ contracts. The role involves on-site inspection of civil and structural work, QA oversight, and coordination with design teams across worldwide task locations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least ten years in construction, with experience reading drawings, knowledge of US codes and safety rules, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least 10 years of construction experience.
• Experience reading design/construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of US construction safety regulations (EM 385-1-1, OSHA).
• Ability to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel worldwide and work across sites abroad.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections of civil and structural work and monitor the contractor's quality control program.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with design documents and contract requirements.
• Observe onsite construction to verify proper installation and execution of elements.
• Conduct quality assurance tasks and ensure corrective actions and compliance with contract requirements.
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with other disciplines as necessary; monitor ongoing construction for design/contract compliance.
• Monitor safety programs and track project progress; submit weekly progress reports with recommendations.
• Prepare construction reports detailing progress and identify problems and proposed remedies.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Project Director and/or Contracting Officer Representative.
