Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Charlotte-area team. The incumbent will assist senior inspectors in overseeing roadway and bridge construction, interpret plans, and monitor conformance to specs on projects in various field conditions.

Responsibilities include field audits, materials testing verification, documenting findings, and promoting safety compliance with project teams; some night/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or related associate degree plus progressive roadway/bridge inspection experience.
• Alternative combinations of training/experience are acceptable per listing.
• Must obtain GDOT certifications within ~6 months where required.
• Reading and interpreting construction documents is essential.
• Driver's license required for site access and driving company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspectors in performing construction oversight and inspection duties.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Monitor activities for compliance with quality standards; report deviations.
• Conduct field audits of ICQA processes and inspect roadways, structures, and drainage.
• Observe materials testing and participate in sample verification; document findings.
• Attend pre-activity meetings and prepare electronic reports; promote safety practices.
