Job summary

BELFOR Property Restoration in New York is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex residential, commercial, and industrial estimates. You will meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates using Xactimate, and manage jobs from scope through completion.

This role requires strong knowledge of building codes, ability to maintain budgets, and effective communication with owners, adjusters, and management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction/restoration or contents estimating.
• Residential estimating >$50,000 and commercial up to $100,000.
• BELFOR Estimating Platform Level 1 and 2 certified.
• Xactimate Intermediate training completed.
• National rate and material invoicing experience.
• English literacy and fluency.
• Knowledge of MSDS data sheets and applicability to jobs.
• BELFOR Estimate Format Standards for Xactimate estimates and proposals.
• Extensive customer service experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, experience with Xactimate.
• Professional demeanor and telephone skills.
• Ability to work well with others and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate scopes, very few over/under scopes.
• Create accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches in Xactimate Sketch.
• Must have working knowledge of applicable building codes.
• Create and adhere to acceptable budgets and address overages as they present themselves.
• Use BELFOR naming convention for estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, etc.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of all local building codes.
• Maintain a construction schedule and coordinate with trades and management to ensure timely completion; identify and present solutions when extra resources are needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency with source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents and deodorization techniques.
• Proficient with investigative demolition, decontamination structure cleaning and deodorization services.
• Participate in BELFOR University training including Basic Xactimate training for cert tests (level 1/2/3 as applicable).
• Independently manages own work.
• Maintain vehicle safety and inspections; keep vehicles clean and serviceable.
• Complete accident, injury & incident reporting forms as required timely.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Assist in development and continual improvement efforts to position BELFOR USA Group, Inc as World Class.
• Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
