Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Virginia Beach team. This permanent role focuses on preparing detailed cost estimates, tracking bids, and negotiating contracts with subs and suppliers to ensure competitive project execution.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in CM/Engineering, at least five years as an estimator, and strong knowledge of design-build processes, materials, and regulations. You will collaborate with PMs, develop written proposals, and advance our commitments to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
• Experience in design-build projects and the ability to provide accurate cost input.
• Deep knowledge of building construction, including new construction, renovation, and restoration.
• Proven ability to develop detailed written proposals that clearly communicate project costs and timelines.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Professional certification in estimating or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs.
• Track bid results and maintain detailed records to facilitate future estimating.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure estimates align with project scope and specifications.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project execution.
• Participate in design build projects, providing cost estimates and budget input.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of building construction to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
• Develop comprehensive written proposals for clients, including cost breakdowns and project timelines.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve project objectives and maintain high client satisfaction.
