Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Estimator - Construction in Virginia Beach to analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to develop time, cost, and labor estimates for government contracting projects. The role requires 5-7+ years of experience, cost-accurate analysis, and collaboration with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in general construction contractor estimating.
• Government contracting experience preferred.
• Strong read of construction drawings and documents; means & methods knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Prepare estimates for vendor/subcontractor selection.
• Review material and labor requirements for cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements for project duration.
• Assess cost effectiveness and track costs vs. bids as project develops.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and foremen to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Develop standard hour and cost data; identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, and subcontractors on estimate changes.
• Prepare estimates used by management for planning and scheduling.
