Jobot in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Lead Construction Estimator to drive project bids from scope through final bid. You will manage estimators, develop detailed and conceptual cost estimates, and lead bid opportunities for design-build and preconstruction efforts with Owners, Architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience leading Estimators/preconstruction teams.
• Experience with design-build projects and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Determine the complete scope and cost requirements for construction projects.
• Manage Estimators and/or preconstruction team members.
• Collaborate with the preconstruction team to establish project scope.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, drawings, and related documents.
• Develop and maintain overall construction cost estimates and bids.
• Collaborate with internal team members to develop presentations and proposals.
• Review design options and recommend solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and material availability.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop project schedules and associated equipment, supervision, and labor costs.
• Adjust estimates on bid day and throughout the estimating process as needed.
• Lead design-build teams in refining project scope and pricing.
• Develop conceptual estimates from incomplete project information.
• Lead teams through bid opportunities.
• Lead meetings with Owners and Architects and provide accurate, timely information.
• Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships.
