Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced estimator to determine costs for industrial and residential projects. You will conduct quantity takeoffs, analyze material, labor, and equipment needs, and coordinate with vendors to prepare bids.

The role requires reading blueprints, applying building codes, and delivering accurate estimates while supporting value engineering and bid compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating costs for industrial and residential projects.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read building plans and understand codes.
• Experience with bids, RFIs, and bid bonds.

Responsibilities

• Quantity takeoffs from blueprints to determine materials and wire lengths.
• Determine labor quantities and costs for each project.
• Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors for bids.
• Submit RFIs during bidding periods.
• Acquire bid bonds when required.
• Populate bid forms and bid breakdowns.
• Prepare MWBE bid documents.
• Assist project managers with change order pricing.
• Participate in value engineering exercises.
• Evaluate profitability to guide bidding decisions.
• Provide viable solutions to increase project profitability.
• Complete and submit competitive bids per guidelines.
• Descop vendors and subcontractors as needed.
• Regularly update cost databases to reflect cost fluctuations.
• Assess whether to construct components or subcontract work.
• Conduct post-project reviews for future improvements.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships.
• Participate in Design Build and Design Assist processes.
• Hand off bid to project management.
• Proficient in PlanSwift and Microsoft Office.
