Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Control Estimator to lead quotes for industrial control systems, from parts to full control panels and systems. You’ll work with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production to turn requirements into accurate, competitive proposals.

Qualifications include 3–5 years in estimating within industrial automation, strong cost and labor-hour analysis, and proficiency with ERP/CRM tools. Some travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 3–5 years estimating, quoting, applications engineering, or project management in industrial automation.
• Knowledge of control panels, PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and electrical schematics.
• Experience with cost data, labor-hour estimates, and supplier RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimator for quotes from parts to complete control systems.
• Turn quotes quickly using past systems and cost data.
• Review RFQs, specs, and drawings to define scope and exceptions.
• Gather labor-hour estimates and current material costs from departments.
• Prepare complete proposals with scope, pricing, lead times, and terms.
• Present proposals with sales and answer technical/commercial questions.
• Handoff awarded projects to engineering and production.
• Log quotes/proposals in ERP/CRM; maintain estimating library.
• Track quotes and follow up to keep opportunities moving.
• Improve estimating processes, tools, and templates; apply AI tools.
