Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project scope.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction, including site work, building, finishes, and MEP systems.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Develop quantity take-offs using plans and digital estimating tools.
  • Identify potential cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and risk factors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify project requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain an updated database of unit costs, material prices, and subcontractor lists.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, budgets, and change order pricing.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings to ensure accurate transfer of estimate data to project teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market pricing, and construction methods.

Job description

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. The Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive, thorough, and timely bids.
