Job summary

Batten & Shaw, Inc. seeks an experienced estimator to independently prepare bid packages and budgets from concept through final check sets. You will analyze subcontractor bids and represent the firm in meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

The role involves gathering data, compiling estimates, and mentoring junior staff. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in construction-related field with 2–5 years estimating experience, experience in commercial/healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Sciences, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field and 2-5 years estimating experience or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
• Experience in conceptual estimating and both negotiated and hard-bid environments.
• Experience with Timberline or equivalent estimating software; BIM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as company representative and present proposals to owners to sell Batten & Shaw's services.
• Solicit, interview and pre-qualify subcontractors; manage database of qualified subs.
• Prepare estimates and bids from concept through final check set; analyze subcontractor bids.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff; supervise less experienced members.
• Research local code and permit requirements and ensure estimates meet policy.
