Job summary

Batten and Shaw Construction seeks an estimator to independently prepare bid packages and budgets from concept through final check set, and to analyze subcontractor bids. You will gather data, prepare routine estimates, and mentor junior staff while traveling to local and regional job sites as needed.

Experience with commercial and healthcare projects, Timberline or equivalent estimating software, and BIM experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field with 2–5 years estimating experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in commercial and healthcare construction.
• Experience in conceptual estimating.
• Experience in negotiated and hard-bid environments.
• Willingness to travel to local and regional job-sites.
• Timberline or equivalent estimating software experience.
• BIM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid packages and budgets from concept through final check set.
• Analyze subcontractor bids and prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates.
• Prepare proposals and scopes; plan, organize and schedule work.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff.
• Travel to local and regional job-sites as needed.
