Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. Two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience adjudicating commercial general liability bodily injury claims beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions. General Adjusting License in Florida, Texas or Wyoming or licensed in multiple other jurisdictions; ability to obtain other licenses within three months.
• Must have good business acumen and understand how an insurance company works and makes money.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to significant matters.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Licensed Claims Examiner requirements and ability to obtain licenses within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate construction defect claims with high technical complexity and authority limits.
• Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigations to resolve issues.
• Report trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
• Analyze forms, endorsements, and client instructions to determine coverage.
• Investigate claims and interview involved parties promptly.
• Manage claims in litigation and coordinate resources for case resolution.
• Set claim reserves considering policy wordings and financial impact.
