Job summary

Argo Group seeks a Senior Construction Technical Claims Specialist Team Lead to adjudicate the most complex construction defect claims for our clients. This role can be staffed from Albany, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, or Richmond, VA, or as a fully remote employee (with some state restrictions).

This is a 100% in-office position for on-site work five days a week to strengthen culture, collaboration, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions; ability within three months to obtain other licenses if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate construction defect claims at high authority limits with significant technical complexity.
• Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to resolve issues.
• Report to senior management on claims trends and developments.
• Analyze claims forms, endorsements and client instructions to determine coverage.
• Investigate claims thoroughly including interviewing involved parties.
• Manage claims in litigation and maintain diaries to move cases toward favorable outcomes.
• Set claim reserves considering policy wordings and reserving impact.
• Identify loss drivers to reduce frequency and severity through data analysis.
• Coordinate expertise resources for case resolution and prepare file documentation.
• Negotiate complex settlements within authority to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
