Job summary

Travelers Insurance Company is seeking an experienced claims professional to investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve construction defect and property damage claims. You will manage the claim life cycle, maintain compliance, and serve as a technical resource to field teams and partners.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, 3+ years of liability claim handling experience, and strong analytical, negotiation and litigation-management skills.

Qualifications

• 3 years of liability claim handling experience.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Insurance license may be required to comply with state requirements.
• Licenses should be obtained within three months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Directly handles assigned severity claims.
• Provides quality customer service and timely coverage analysis.
• Consults with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel.
• Investigates claims with policyholders, claimants and witnesses to determine liability and damages.
• Engages resources for analysis such as subrogation and expert consultants.
• Verifies injury or damage with records and documentation.
• Maintains claim files and uses evaluation tools per guidelines.
• Tracks claims with a diary management system to ensure timely handling.
• Establishes reserves for indemnity and expenses.
• Negotiates disposition with insureds and claimants or their representatives.
• Manages litigated claims with staff/panel counsel and cost control.
• Travel up to 30% as needed.
