Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a Senior Construction Technical Claims Specialist Team Lead to adjudicate highly complex construction defect claims from offices in Albany, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, or Richmond (VA). A fully remote option is possible except in AK, DE, HI, KY, MI, MS, MT, ND, SD, or VT.

Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions; General Adjusting License in Florida, Texas or Wyoming or licensure in multiple jurisdictions; ability to obtain other licenses within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate construction defect claims at high authority limits with significant technical complexity.
• Gather information, analyze and investigate to resolve issues.
• Report trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
• Analyze claims forms, endorsements, and instructions to determine coverage.
• Investigate promptly, interview involved parties, and manage litigation when needed.
• Set reserves considering policy wordings and reserving impact.
• Identify loss drivers to reduce frequency and severity through data analysis.
• Coordinate experts to assist in case resolution and prepare documentation.
