Argo Group is a specialty insurance underwriter seeking a Senior Construction Technical Claims Specialist Team Lead to work from our offices in Albany, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, or Richmond (VA). A fully remote arrangement is possible, except in certain states; this role is focused on adjudicating complex construction defect claims and leading a team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

The Senior Construction Technical Claims Specialist will oversee complex defect claims,

Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. Two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience adjudicating commercial general liability bodily injury claims beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions. Ability to obtain other licenses within three months of hire.

• Adjudicate construction defect claims with high technical complexity and authority.
• Gather information, analyze, and investigate to resolve issues.
• Report trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
• Analyze claims forms, endorsements, and client instructions to determine coverage.
• Investigate claims promptly, including interviewing involved parties.
• Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely resolution.
• Set reserves with awareness of policy wordings and reserving impacts.
• Identify loss drivers to reduce frequency and severity through data analysis.
• Coordinate expertise resources for case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation and communicate with clients.
