Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions; ability to obtain other licenses within three to 120 days as required.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate construction defect claims at the highest authority limits with major impact.
• Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to resolve issues.
• Report claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
• Analyze claims forms, endorsements, and client instructions to determine coverage.
• Investigate promptly, including interviewing involved parties.
• Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely resolutions.
• Set claim reserves considering policy wordings and reserving impact.
• Identify loss drivers and trends through data analysis to reduce frequency and severity.
• Coordinate expertise resources to aid in case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation and communicate outcomes.
• Negotiate complex settlements within authority to achieve cost-effective results.
