Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to manage a single line of insurance, supporting multiple divisions. The role focuses on subcontractor default and builder's risk claims, with emphasis on analysis, documentation, and coordination.

The position will sit primarily in the office and requires strong writing, communication, and project coordination skills within a construction environment. A related bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of claims experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in claims or other relevant industries
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Construction project management, project controls, construction accounting, risk management, insurance claims, subcontractor default claims, or builder's risk claim experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in subcontractor default claims investigation, documentation, and administration.
• Coordinate with project teams, insurers, and brokers to gather claim-related information.
• Support tracking and analysis of costs, back charges, and recovery opportunities.
• Assist in developing claim submissions and supporting documentation.
• Assist in builder's risk claims investigation and preparation of proofs of loss.
