Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Chicago seeks a Senior Claims Specialist to manage a single line of insurance across multiple divisions. The role requires advanced claims knowledge and will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities include subcontractor default, builder's risk, and construction/financial analysis, working with project teams, insurers, and brokers. A bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of claims experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination.
• 2–5 years of claims or related experience preferred.
• Experience with subcontractor default and builder's risk claims is a plus.
• Construction/project risk management background is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigation and documentation of subcontractor default claims.
• Review subcontract agreements, default notices, cure notices, and claim files.
• Coordinate with project teams, insurers, consultants and brokers for claim information.
• Support tracking and analysis of costs, back charges, delays, and recoveries.
• Help develop submissions and documentation for subcontractor default claims.
