Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, seeks an experienced Senior Construction Administrator in Arlington, VA to lead contract and construction document management. This in-office role oversees projects across VA, DC, and MD and offers strong growth within CMTA.

The position requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree with 10+ years in design or construction administration, plus proficiency in Adobe/Bluebeam, EDMS (Newforma/Procore), and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 10+ years of experience as a design engineer or construction administration professional.
• Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam and Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with EDMS systems such as Newforma or Procore.
• Strong coordination with design teams and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contract language, codes, and manufacturer data.
• Process construction administration documents: shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, pay apps, closeout.
• Review submittals and incorporate design team comments.
• Prepare preliminary RFI responses and incorporate design feedback.
• Conduct onsite inspections 2–3 days/week and document field observations.
• Maintain and update electronic construction plan sets with the design team.
• Assist with project schedules and logs.
• Communicate clearly with staff and clients on inquiries/requirements.
• Mentor design staff on constructability and processes.
• Coordinate closeout document completion.
