Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a constructability lead to oversee the constructability phase of projects, partnering with design, modeling, and field teams to apply company standards and reduce rework.

You will coordinate trade interfaces, manage resources, contribute to design pulls, support budgeting, and drive timely delivery while maintaining quality workmanship and safety standards across HVAC, plumbing, and sheet metal scopes.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent trade apprenticeship, training and experience
• 5+ years relevant experience, including people and project management experience
• Field experience preferred
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
• Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
• Attention to detail
• Ability to coordinate projects
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to interpret the construction schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
• Knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Lead constructability on smaller projects
• Incorporate constructability knowledge in model with design group to minimize rework
• Coordinate communication between project team members for a successful product
• Provide material, content and feedback to applicable team members
• Lead final trade coordination and sign-off with General Contractor
• Contribute to design pull schedule to direct model development to meet deliverables
• Manage resources assigned to the project
• Assist with budget and cost accountability
• Perform additional assignments as requested/needed
