Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, PA is seeking a Connectivity System Senior Engineer to design and validate telematics systems across heavy equipment.
You will work with cross-functional teams to connect assets to enterprise platforms, develop test plans, and deliver reliable digital solutions that improve uptime and efficiency. This role requires strong debugging, hardware/software integration, and hands-on field support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with telematics, connected products, and industrial communication systems preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols and networking technologies (Modbus, TCP/IP, J1939).
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and validation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and validate end-to-end telematics systems and software features.
- Develop solutions that connect assets to enterprise and cloud-based applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital products.
- Drive improvements in performance, reliability, quality, and serviceability.
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and validation activities.
- Create user guides and technical documentation.
- Develop automated test solutions using Python and scripting tools.
- Travel to customer sites and dealer locations (~10%).
- Contribute to New Product Introduction and Built-In Quality initiatives.
