Job summary

ABA Search, Inc. is assisting a renowned AmLaw 100 law firm in San Francisco with a conflicts compliance role.

The successful candidate will partner with the General Counsel's office and Professional Responsibility Committee to manage conflicts screening and waivers for new matters and hires. Responsibilities include analyzing conflicts data, advising attorneys, drafting waivers, supervising nonlawyer staff, and ensuring confidentiality across client matters.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar membership in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Prior law firm conflicts experience required.
• Excellent legal research ability using online databases.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to distill complex data into clear legal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze conflicts from firm databases and external sources with GC and committee.
• Advise attorneys on conflicts clearance.
• Draft waivers or cure conflicts as needed.
• Supervise nonlawyer conflicts staff.
• Document and audit the clearance process.
• Work with ethical walls and Intapp Walls.
• Maintain conflicts database with clients and matters.
• Provide on-call coverage on weekends/holidays.
• Support AML compliance activities for international offices.
• Uphold confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
