Our client is a premier global law firm seeking a conflicts analyst on the West Coast. You will analyze and process conflicts requests, prepare searches, and generate reports to ensure engagements comply with professional conduct.

You will review documentation, draft waivers, advise attorneys, and maintain detailed records. The role requires 5+ years in a law firm or conflicts department and strong research, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a law firm, legal environment, or conflicts department.
• 3+ years focused on conflicts or legal intake.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and conflicts database systems.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Understanding of corporate law practice and research.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree; JD a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process conflicts requests, including complex and high-volume matters.
• Prepare database search terms and generate conflicts reports.
• Conduct corporate research to identify parties and potential conflicts.
• Review and analyze conflicts reports to identify conflicts.
• Interpret results for partners, counsel, attorneys, and professionals.
• Prepare summaries of conflicts landscape based on conduct rules.
• Communicate with partners via email and phone to resolve issues.
• Provide status updates to attorneys and stakeholders during clearance.
• Maintain detailed conflicts resolution notes for each request.
• Request waivers where consent is required and confirm resolutions.
• Draft conflict waivers and engagement letters as needed.
• Advise on special circumstances and complicated requests.
• Draft and implement ethical screens as necessary.
• Monitor legal ethics trends; research case law and ethics.
• Provide conflicts training to staff as needed.
