Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to support VA applications and spearhead cloud migration. You will develop and maintain CM tools, enforce configuration standards, and train developers in CM practices.

The role requires deep CM expertise, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to lead teams and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure repeatable builds and compliant deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex software builds and releases.
• Experience in regulated enterprises or federal environments.
• Deep CM and release engineering expertise.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• CM practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).
• Source control and branching/merging experience.
• CI/CD tools and artifact repositories experience.
• Automation scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
• Knowledge of software quality standards and training developers.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks to document, standardize, and logistically sustain builds.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain tools to improve modeling and development.
• Build procedures to support software product development and use.
• Develop software CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality practices.
• Provide guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines across projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders internal and external.
• Lead and mentor junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.
