Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst - II to join our remote team supporting VA software configuration management and cloud migration initiatives.

The role requires deep CM and release engineering expertise, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating with multiple stakeholders. U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex software builds and releases across environments.
• Experience in large regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identifying, controlling, reporting, and delivering software (including COTS).
• Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring documentation, hardware conformance, and sustainability.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve modeling and development.
• Create build procedures for software product development and use.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance for complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines.
• Ensure repeatable build and deployment processes across projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; mentor junior analysts/engineers.
