RTX's Pratt & Whitney division in East Hartford, CT seeks a Design/Structures Engineer for composite components. You will join an Integrated Product Team to craft engine-specific designs meeting advanced requirements.

Responsibilities include design and structural analysis across concept to detail, material selection, laminate architecture, CAD models, and ply-by-ply FEA to ensure compliance with engine hardware. Mentoring is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years' defense/aerospace or related experience.
• Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Design/structures engineering for composite components and IPT collaboration.
• Provide design and structural analysis across conceptual, preliminary, & detailed design phases.
• Material selection, laminate architecture, CAD models, and sub-element component design for testing.
• FEA of solid, layered, and ply-by-ply models to meet engine requirements.
• Support manufacturing development with suppliers and document results for management.
• Mentor and coach engineers on the team.
• Travel ~10%.
