Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT is seeking a senior structural analyst to support gas-turbine compressor components, including airfoils, rotors and cases. This role emphasizes durability, performance, and cross-functional collaboration on aerospace engine systems.

The candidate will lead structural analyses, apply FEM/LCF/HCF methods, and contribute to design optimization, validation, and in-service support across multiple teams. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of experience.
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience and background in structural analysis.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for preliminary and detailed design, through development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
• Use FEM and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
• Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data-reduction.
• Support in-service field investigations.
• Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
• Document and present results to management and external customers.
